The fourth crab vessel commissioned by Antey Group was launched in Nakhodka

The vessel “Cape Navarin” was launched from the stocks of the Nakhodka shipyard. This is the first launch of the crab vessel in 2023 and the fourth as part of the order of the Antey Group. Eight vessels are being built simultaneously as part of the first stage of the “keel quota” program; the first three were launched in 2022 and now commissioning work and preparation for mooring and sea trials are underway on these vessels.

“Cape Navarin”, like the entire series of crab vessels, is being built according to the modern CCa5712LS design, which has no analogues in the world. This vessel is an order of the Antey Sever company, part of the Antey Group. It is intended for the production and transportation of live crab in the Bering, Barents and Okhotsk seas. The total length of the crab catcher is 57.7 meters, width 12.6 meters, maximum speed 12 knots. In addition, the vessel will be able to store up to 120 tons of live crab in 9 RSW tanks with a total volume of 680 cubic meters.

“To date, the total investment in the construction of eight crab fishing vessels is 16 billion rubles. The economic situation in the country and global sanctions policy are making adjustments to production deadlines. For the Antey group, the construction of ships at the Primorsky shipyard is not only the fulfillment of tasks to renew the fleet, but also a major contribution to the development of the region. We see how the Nakhodka shipyard is again becoming one of the best not only in Primorye, but also in Russia,” said Yuri Bakalyar, General Director of Antey Sever LLC.

According to Vladimir Naumchak, First Deputy General Director and Director for Shipbuilding of NSRZ JSC, such a large-scale order helped revive the shipbuilding industry in Nakhodka.

A series of eight crab vessels commissioned by Antey Group of Companies was solemnly laid down in June 2020. The start of construction was given by Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. “Cape Navarin” is the fourth crab fisher in the series; two more vessels will be launched before the end of this year.
