Crab fishing vessel “KAPITAN KHAZAN” was launched at the Nakhodka ship repair yard

The vessel opens a series of eight crab vessels, which are being built by order of the Antey Group.

The total investment amounted to 13.5 billion rubles.

The vessels are intended for crab extraction in the Bering, Barents and Okhotsk Seas and transporting up to 120 tons of live crab.

“We placed an order on principle at the Nakhodka Ship Repair Yard, one of the oldest shipyards in Primorye. It is important for us not only to renew the fleet and create comfortable conditions for seafarers, but also to revive the traditionally strong shipbuilding industry in the Far East,” said Ivan Mikhnov, President of the Antey Group.

The vessels were laid down at the Nakhodka Ship Repair Yard in 2020. The start of construction was given by Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.

Two more crab fishing vessels will be launched before the end of this year.
