Murmansk graduates choose maritime professions

This year at the Murmansk Marine Fishery College named after. I.I. Mesyatsev Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education “MAU” has been allocated 310 budget places, of which 230 are within the framework of the “Professionality” project. The admissions campaign is active, both boys and girls are applying. Most often, young people choose the specialty “Navigation,” while girls prefer the specialty “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture.”

Three maritime specialties at the college provide full government support. For the cadets studying there, hot meals are organized in the galley three times a day, and they are also provided with uniforms, the completeness of which depends on the season.

“This year we had very fruitful career guidance work together with the Antey Sever company. For graduates, we conducted excursions to crab breeding, visited ships, and conducted themed quests. Interest in maritime specialties has increased, thanks in part to this; we can feel it already, although there are six weeks left until the end of the admissions campaign. So everyone has the opportunity to apply for admission to our college,” said Anzhelika Bolozovich, head of the career guidance and targeted training sector of the Arctic Fisheries Educational Center.
