The flag was solemnly raised on the crab catcher “Captain Khazan”

The solemn ceremony of raising the flag on the crab fishing vessel “Captain Khazan” took place at the Nakhodka shipyard in Primorye. This is the first vessel in the series, built by order of the Antey group of companies under the state investment quota program.

The vessel “Captain Khazan” has ice class Ice2 and is intended for the production and transportation of live crab in the basins of the Okhotsk, Bering and Barents seas. Capacity – up to 120 tons of live crab in 9 tanks with a total volume of 680 cubic meters.

“Today is a holiday for all of us, but we cannot say that we came to it the easy way. Pandemic, sanctions, economic conditions – there were many difficulties during construction. We moved from one barrier to another. We won and moved forward. We congratulate all participants in this event and thank everyone for their cooperation and work done,” said Ivan Mikhnov, President of the Antey Group of Companies

“Captain Khazan” opens a series of eight crab fishermen, built by order of the Antey group of companies. The total investment amounted to 16 billion rubles. The project is being implemented with joint financial support from the state development corporation VEB.RF and JSC Rosselkhozbank.

“This program would not have been possible if at one time the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin had not adopted a law – quotas in exchange for investments. Now companies that catch crab must build such modern super-vessels,” emphasized the head of Rosrybolovstvo, Ilya Shestakov.

The vessels were laid down at the NSRZ in 2020. Such a large-scale order made it possible to create more than 400 new jobs for local residents in Nakhodka. Today, this is the only plant in Russia where 8 crab fishing vessels of the same type are simultaneously built.

After completing all registration procedures and fully staffing the crew, “Captain Khazan” will begin work. Fishing trials will take place in the Sea of Japan and will last several weeks. After this, the vessel will go fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk.
